Welcome to episode #17 of The Theology on Homosexuality podcast and the Torch Leadership Foundation Institute’s “Hill, Lutzer, McKissic Lecture Series.” This Lecture Series is in honor of E.V. Hill, Erwin Lutzer, and Dwight McKissic for standing for God, truth and righteousness down through the years without compromise. My name is Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International. This podcast was created primarily to inform the Christian church about why it must stand against homosexuality, homosexual marriage, homosexual parenting, and the homosexual agenda. The biblical portrait of marriage, family and sexuality has sadly come under attack in our society and it is time for the church to stand up and to educate our culture about the dangers of same-sex marriage and the same-sex agenda while at the same time to promote God’s idea of marriage between one man and one woman, God’s view of the family structure, and God’s view of sexuality as being permissible and pleasurable within the safety and sanctity of marriage. The normalization of homosexuality and everything that pertains to it is probably the greatest danger facing our world today. Thus, it is imperative that the body of Christ choose to stop ignoring this prevailing issue and stand up for what God says on this matter before it completely destroys our country. This podcast is designed to equip pastors, church leaders, and Christians everywhere to take a firm stand for God against homosexuality and the homosexual agenda, in the spirit of love, grace and truth, so that we will not be responsible for allowing this nation to implode on our watch.

Our Theology on Homosexuality passage from the Word of God today is 1 Timothy 1:8-11. It reads, “But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.”

Allow me to share with you some important points regarding this passage from the “Bible Knowledge Commentary” by John F. Walvoord and Roy B. Zuck:

The Law is designed to show people their sinfulness. Thus the Law is not for one who had already recognized his sin and turned to Christ. That person is no longer under the Law but should now walk in the Spirit. The Law is intended for those who remain unconvinced of their sin. Paul provided a striking list of examples which seem to be intentionally based on the Ten Commandments. The list begins with three pairs corresponding to the first table of the Decalogue dealing with offenses against God: (1) lawbreakers and rebels, (2) the ungodly and sinful, (3) the unholy and irreligious. Paul then listed violators of the first five commandments of the second table of the Decalogue: those who kill their fathers or mothers represent the ultimate violation of the fifth commandment, and murderers the sixth. Adulterers and perverts pertain to the seventh commandment, which was generally broadly interpreted to include all forms of sexual sin. Slave traders may correspond to the eighth commandment since kidnapping was viewed as the ultimate act of stealing. Liars and perjurers clearly pertain to the ninth commandment. Only the 10th commandment (“You shall not covet”) is not included. Paul concluded this inventory of sinners with an all-inclusive reference to any behavior which is contrary to sound doctrine, including no doubt the very behavior of the false teachers themselves.

Our Theology on Homosexuality quotes for today are from pastor Dwight McKissic and pastor John MacArthur:

Pastor Dwight McKissic said, “Our disagreement is not due to ignorance, homophobia or hatred of homosexuals, but due to a sincerely-held, well-grounded and researched conviction on the nature of marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Today there is alarming and widespread animus, as well as brazen intolerance, against those of us who hold to this conviction, and there is being hurled at us a disturbing brand of anti-Christian and anti-Bible bigotry. It is high time that more of us start naming and challenging this brand of bigotry.”

Pastor John MacArthur said, Marriage “is a moral foundation in all social relationships and it all goes back to the Genesis account that a man and a woman would come together and leaving parents cleave to one another for life. This is God’s institution and is the building block of all society. Peter calls it the grace of life. Anything other than a man and a woman married for life is iniquitous. And the most perverse kind of relationship, of course, is that which is a man and a man or a woman and a woman.”

Our Theology on Homosexuality topic is titled “We Must Consult the Designer’s Manual” part 5 from “The Truth About Same-Sex Marriage: 6 Things You Need to Know About What’s Really at Stake” by pastor Erwin Lutzer. And, I want to remind you to take advantage of our special offer. Dr. Erwin Lutzer goes on to say…

SEXUALITY AND ALIEN BONDS

Every sexual relationship apart from the man/woman relationship in marriage can be called an alien bond; that is, a bond that violates the biblical boundaries. Perhaps one of the most helpful passages in the New Testament regarding the nature of sexuality is found in Paul’s words to the Corinthian church. “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you now know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, ‘The two will become one flesh’ ” (1 Corinthians 6:15–16).

Incredibly, Paul says that when a man has sex with a prostitute; that is, sex without a commitment, sex without a hint of mutual respect or caring—in a relationship based on the exploitation of raw lust—even then “the two will become one flesh.” Sex binds two people together not just physically, but also in the soul and spirit even apart from marriage.

Sex with a prostitute forms an alien bond, a bond outside the boundaries and nurture of a marriage covenant. This bond is an intruder, a violation of what God intended. Two persons have come together in an intimate union without the security of a covenant based on respect and trust.

A woman whose husband asked her forgiveness for his promiscuity said, “I feel as if all the other women he has had sex with are in bed there with me.” In a sense she was right. AIDS researchers tell us that when we have a sexual relationship, we are, in effect, having sex with all the people our partner has had sex with. This is true medically, but it is also true metaphysically. Because sex joins people into one flesh, past “bonds” are still there. Their power can only be removed by forgiveness and the cleansing of the conscience.

When the first sexual experience (or subsequent ones) occurs outside the marriage covenant, the sexual bond can be so powerful that it can even determine the direction of the person’s sexual orientation. A boy recruited by an older homosexual may initially hate the experience, but because sex binds two people together, he may begin to feel a sense of security and fulfillment within this relationship. Soon he seeks out other partners, not because he was born a homosexual, but because his initial experiences were so stamped upon his soul that he now follows the lead of his newly awakened desires.

This also explains why a young woman may marry a man with whom she has slept even though he may be abusive. His soul is indelibly imprinted on her mind and heart, and she feels an obligation to become his wife. Because of sex, he also may have incredible power over her. He may mistreat her, but she will usually return to him. Even if the relationship ends, she will find it difficult to put him out of her mind. Understandably, the next step is to begin the cycle of promiscuity, hoping to find that elusive meaningful connection which will finally satisfy.

It is precisely because sex has a spiritual dimension and therefore touches the human soul that sexual abuse in the life of a child can be so difficult, or perhaps even impossible, to overcome. Far from being simply a biological experience that “feels good,” it is a gross spiritual ritual that pollutes the conscience and therefore disconnects the soul from God and others. It is the fuel that lights the fires of shame and the frantic desire for other relationships, no matter how broken. In a word, it is the path to addiction.

—PRAYER—

Now, if you are listening today, and you do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, allow me to show you how.

First, accept the fact that you are a sinner, and that you have broken God’s law. The Bible says in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Second, accept the fact that there is a penalty for sin. The Bible states in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death…”

Third, accept the fact that you are on the road to hell. Jesus Christ said in Matthew 10:28: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Also, the Bible states in Revelation 21:8: “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Now this is bad news, but here’s the good news. Jesus Christ said in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will.

Romans 10:9-13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Until next time, my friend, may God bless you and keep you!
